ACT Policing has arrested and charged a 29-year-old Bruce man following the execution of a Drugs of Dependence Act search warrant on a Bruce apartment late yesterday afternoon (Saturday, April 13).

Members of ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations team executed the warrant on the apartment around 4.15pm. Another man and woman were in the apartment at the time of the warrant’s execution but both were later released without charge.

A search of the premises located around 4kg of compressed vegetable matter suspected to be cannabis, small quantities of a substance suspected to be home-made hashish, cannabis plants growing on his balcony, a quantity of material suspected to be methylamphetamine, plus small quantities of anabolic steroids and testosterone. The material will be subject to analysis.

The 29-year-old alleged offender was questioned and charged with cultivating cannabis, trafficking in cannabis, and trafficking in a controlled drug other than cannabis. He is being held in the ACT Watch House and is expected to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow.
