Brumbies pick an open side flanker to take on the Chiefs

The Brumbies have named their side for Friday’s acid test against the red hit Chiefs.

Michael Hooper is coming in to replace Ita Vaea which will improve the fetching at the expense of some grunt.

But in the backs is where it’s really interesting.

The red hot Nic White is starting on the bench, Leilifano is playing fly half for the injured Toomua, and big mungo import Joe Tomane is going to play inside centre.

One suspects Tomane’s brief is to counter the Chiefs rampaging Sonny Bill Williams.

It’s a craftily picked side with a lot of firepower sitting on the bench to come on later in the game.

I thought Nic White was sensational last week, especially considering how crook he was.
