One for the woofers.

The Chief Minister is frantically coming to grips with Territory and Municipal Services and seems determined to play the part of Mayor for the next four years.

As part of the catch up he is this morning letting us know that tomorrow is the “Dog’s Day Out” on the shores of Lake Ginninderra.

‘”From 11am to 2pm this Sunday at Lake Ginninderra, off Diddams Close, dogs and owners will congregate for a host of activities, including obedience and agility demonstrations, a fund-raising dog wash and dog massage service, dog trick competitions and even an ‘owner and dog look-a-like’ competition,” Mr Stanhope said.

Proceeds from the wash and massage services will go to ACT Rescue and Foster and Companion Animal Rescue and Adoption (CARA).

The day will feature displays from Domestic Animal Services, ARK, the RSPCA Animal Rescue Unit and Guide Dogs.

Dog owners can enjoy a barbecue, coffee or an ice cream.

Owners are asked to keep their dogs on a lead at all times during the event.’
