Go for 2&5® ?

Katy Gallagher has announced that she’s slipping another bung to the advertising industry (comes in handy when booking your spots for re-election next year if the relationship is well established). This time it’s to tell us to eat more fruit and vegetables.

The campaign is called “Go for 2&5®”.

When your message can be summed up as “eat more fruit and vegetables” why not make it completely incomprehensible? Then you can run another campaign to explain what the first one was all about.

Today’s challenge for audience participation is to come up with snappy, vaguely suggestive but mostly incomprehensible titles for further public health campaigns. Let’s see what you can do with these:

● Brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes
● Don’t run with scissors
● Drink less booze
● Put a jumper on
● Wash your hands after you go to the toilet
● Get more sleep
● Stop drinking each other’s blood (one for the goths and emos)

(Oh and while we’re here, RiotACT would happily do a very generous deal if Katy wants to reach an audience that doesn’t consume a lot of other commercial media)

They just ripped this off Coles.

some of us drink more to get to sleep

While I know I sleep more easily after a few drinks I’d suggest it’s not ideal to self-medicate.

How about “stop being stupid.”

Too much bed and not enough sleep
Sounds like a slogan for one of Fyshwick’s fine establishments.

See, some of us drink more to get to sleep…what shall i do now? 😀

a propos, i have been perpetually perplexed by nsw’s rta ads ‘3 x 3 your petrol dollars at work’… wha’ the fark? anyone?

scissors – sharp ‘n’ slow
toilet – wee wash now
sleep – zzz 4 8+ x7

How about “pay your taxes before you die”.

The QLD Government did a 2 & 5 campaign some time ago. It featured a bizarre effigy of a man made out of fruit and vegies telling the kiddies to eat more green stuff, I think it scared a lot of small children.

Perhaps they also need a campaign that tell of the inherant dangers of mixing dope, speed, ice, smack, coke, petroleum aromatics and passion pop (practical advice for those teens out there wanting to experiment with brainkillers).

Get more sleep

Too much bed and not enough sleep

Stop drinking each other’s blood
Don’t mix your plasma

I thought it referred to the working week, a legacy of the industrial revolution. Ideally it should be 4+3.

i thought that 2+5 thing was a coles thing… *shrugs*

Here’s one for teeth brushing: 2-24->2
