Around about 8am scheeching and crashing sounds were heard from my house near the aforementioned drive, minutes later sirens were heard and were stopped at the entrance of the Ngunnawal Substation so heavily guarded.
(Sniggers in disbelief as the only security is the guard which drives by on his way home)
Upon investigation it would seem that the young male driver in a white hatchback going to Amaroo came across the road, mounted the curb and continued until stopping in the ditch next to the front gate most likely with a resounding thud. Effeciently the Firies and Ambo’s continued their work getting the poor bloke out in approx 15 minutes. He looked ok but the car is definately a write off.
Later, after the rescue services had left, a tow truck, accompanied by 2 vans from the Crash unit examined the scene.
That’s all I know now, however there might be more on the news tonight.
It would seem the effects off alcohol and lack of sleep, have contributed in this incident, with no tyre marks in relation to the crash. ASLEEP ON THE WHEEL!!!
