Chart-smashing Australian group Justice Crew and exciting new British funk and soul sensation Z-Star are among the headline acts for the 2015 National Multicultural Festival, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Joy Burch announced today.
“One of the great things about our National Multicultural Festival is that it brings together high-profile acts with some of the best of the local music scene,” Ms Burch said.
“Justice Crew are among the hottest acts in the country and it is great to have them at the National Multicultural Festival, along with Z-Star and Bollywood rockers Bombay Royale from Melbourne.
“To add to that we are pleased to welcome back Benny Walker with his rich, soulful voice and songs that go the troubles and joys that we all experience.”
Ms Burch also announced furniture giant Ikea is among the major sponsors for the Festival, which will take place in the City Centre from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 February 2015.
“Our sponsors are driving forces behind the Festival and I am happy to say that Ikea has come on board as a main sponsor, even ahead of their store opening next year,” Ms Burch said.
“Regular signature events will be returning, including the Chinese Spring Festival, Indigenous Showcase, African Village, Greek Glendi, India in the City, Pacific Island Showcase, American Experience – Hawaii, Latin American Quarters and Carnivale in the City.
“The ACT Government is proud to stage this event in partnership with our multicultural community in a strong signal of our harmonious community.”
