ACT Fire & Rescue on scene at an apartment fire on Pinkerton Circuit, Kambah.

Apartment has sustained partial roof collapse.

Update to follow.

9:05pm Friday 18 November 2011

Fire has been extinguished.

Brick and tile apartment has sustained major damage.

Apartment was vacant at time of fire.

ACT Fire & Rescue firefighters have prevented the fire from spreading to three adjoining units.

Some smoke penetration in adjoining units. Occupants of those units safely self evacuated with some assistance also from firefighters.

ACT Fire & Rescue crews responded following multiple Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls at 8.50pm.

Three fire pumpers on scene with the Breathing Apparatus Support vehicle, hazardous materials unit and a command vehicle.

Crews conducting ventilation and air monitoring of apartment and neighbouring units in complex.

ACT Fire & Rescue will shortly hand over to ACT Policing to determine the cause of the fire.
