A 22-year-old man died soon after a collision this afternoon between the motorcycle he was riding and a car on Springvale Drive, Weetangera.
ACT Policing is investigating the accident, which occurred shortly before 12.25pm.
ACT Ambulance Service attended and the male motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to Station Sergeant Marcus Boorman, the acting officer in charge of traffic operations, the driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
“[The other driver] had no physical injuries but any collision like this is traumatic for anyone,” Station Sergeant Boorman said.
ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
The man is the second person to have died on ACT roads this year.
