Man assaulted by three teens in Weston

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an incident where a man was assaulted by three teenage males in Weston yesterday afternoon (Thursday, June 26).

About 2.20pm, the man was riding on the bike path near Kirkpatrick Street, Weston, when he stopped to remove an obstruction on the path. At this time, he noticed three males exit a white Holden Commodore and approach him.

The three teen offenders yelled and grabbed at the man’s collar, with one offender holding a metal pipe. One offender took the man’s mobile phone and threw it in a nearby lake. The offenders did not make any demands on the victim and shortly after returned to their vehicle and left the area.

All three offenders were around 17 years old.

The first was described as Caucasian in appearance, 5’7” to 5’10” (170cm to 178cm) tall and wearing a grey hooded jumper.

The second was described as possibly Pacific Islander or Maori in appearance, 5’7” to 5’10” (170cm to 178cm) tall, of a stocky build and wearing a dark blue hooded jumper.

The third was described as Caucasian in appearance and 5’7” to 5’10” (170cm to 178cm) tall.

The vehicle was an older model white Holden Commodore with a rear spoiler and red ‘P’ plates.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information to assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
