Man escapes police custody in Cooma

A man escaped police custody in Cooma today and is believed to be headed north.

Police are appealing for public assistance to find Leigh Matthew Campbell, 35, who fled from Cooma Local Court at about 11:15 am today (4 December).

Police believe the man may be driving a grey Ford Territory, registration CN 49 AB.

A police spokesperson said Campbell is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 150-160 cm tall, of medium build with short brown hair and tattoos on his head, neck and under his right eye.

Police are warning members of the public not to approach the man, but to instead call triple-zero (000) immediately.
