Police call for witnesses after ute and cyclist collide

Police are calling for witnesses to come forward after a cyclist was taken to hospital following a crash on the Federal Highway on Wednesday afternoon (31 July).

Around 4:15 pm a utility and a bicycle collided in the city-bound lanes of the Federal Highway, near the intersection with Old Well Station Road, Watson.

The cyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

Police want to speak with three drivers who stopped and assisted the cyclist immediately after the collision but left the scene prior without speaking to police. It is believed that they may have vital information about the collision.

Anyone who may have any information, dash-cam footage that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
