Police looking for man who robbed elderly man at gunpoint in daylight robbery

Police are looking for witnesses after a 75-year-old man had his car and wallet stolen at gunpoint in Bonython last week.

About 6:25 pm last Thursday (11 October), a 75-year-old man parked his dark grey Mercedes Benz C250 car in the driveway of his home in Bonython.

A man described as Caucasian in appearance, about 30-years-old, average build, about 178cm tall (5’10”), wearing a hooded jumper approached the car armed with a pistol. He threatened the man who got out of his car, then allegedly struck the man in the face before taking his wallet and fleeing in the car.

The 75-year-old man sustained deep lacerations to his face and was transported to hospital.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information or dash-cam footage (from 6 pm to 6:25 pm between Isabella Plains Shops and Bonython) that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
