ACT Policing’s Collision, Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are currently investigating a collision that occurred in Tharwa today May 16, 2010.
At approximately 11.40am this morning, police were called to Tharwa Drive, Tharwa after a white ute had collided with two cyclists.
The male cyclist, a 61-year-old from Monash, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his 58-year-old wife, whom he was riding with, was conveyed to The Canberra Hospital after sustaining a number of injuries.
The male driver of the white ute did not sustain any serious injuries and is assisting police with their inquiries
Police would urge drivers to beware of cyclists on our roads at all times.

ACT Policing’s Collision, Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are currently investigating a two vehicle collision which resulted in the death of an elderly man today May 15, 2010 in Forrest.
Approximately 3.30pm this afternoon police were called to the intersection of National Circuit and Hobart Avenue, Forrest, where a green station wagon had collided with a white transporter van.
The elderly male driving the green station wagon died at the scene. The passenger in the vehicle suffered chest injuries and was conveyed by ACT Ambulance to The Canberra Hospital.
The male driver of the white transporter van suffered minor injuries and was also conveyed to The Canberra Hospital.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and is yet to speak to police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
