Chamberlains - complete legal services for business

Police Wrap – 5 May

1. The return of Thuggy Tuggies?

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault and robbery in Richardson last night in which two teenagers were punched and property stolen.

The victims, an 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, alighted from a bus and were walking along Clift Crescent in Richardson around 6.15pm yesterday (Monday, May 4) when they noticed a group of males walking behind them.

One of the following group then approached the male victim from behind, and punched him in an unprovoked assault. All three males then began assaulting the male victim, who fell to the ground. The female victim attempted to intervene but was also punched.

One of the assailants then stole the female victim’s handbag and the group ran off along Clift Crescent in the direction of the Calwell shops.

One of the assailants is described as between 17-19 years old, 5’9” (175cm) tall, with olive skin, short dark hair, and with an Australian accent. He was wearing dark pants, white sneakers and a black hooded top.

The second assailant was also between 17-19 years old, 5’9” (175cm) tall, with a skinny build and short hair gelled up in a spikey style and possibly with a mullet. He was also wearing dark pants, a black or dark-grey hooded top and white sneakers.

The third assailant was also between 17-19 years old, with olive skin, and wearing dark pants. All three offenders wore dark-coloured tops with the hoods up over their heads.

If you can help police contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.

It’s only a matter of time before these gangs attack a 50+ year old (if they haven’t done so already).
I’m hoping they pick on someone 50+ year old like Chuck Norris, or Jackie Chan, or Chopper Read.

I think we’re all safe as long as we aren’t female and those in our group out late at night aren’t outnumbered by a ratio of 3:1. These guys only attack those they know that can beat which is the mark of the typical bully and coward. Individually, I’d guess each of these idiots is weak and harbors some kind of inferiority complex.

there are a few people i know who walk to relax – they train very hard, and don’t look well built, but I would love to hear about some of these morons attacking them. It would probably be reported as 3rd dan karate champ kicks snot out of youths in unprovoked attack….

my mates would probably just break their arms and legs and give them a swimming lesson…

Lots of murderers amongst your mates?

I’ve often wondered where I would stand if I was attacked, and once their advantage was over, i.e. they have my stuff and their guard is now down (and presumabing I am still capable, and not shaken), so I have an edge….. where I would legally stand, if I fight to get my stuff back.

Beat their heads in and leave them lying in the gutter. They’re the ones who took a deliberate decision to try to harm you, so to my mind they waived their ‘rights’.

‘The greater good’

#3 Agreed – I have always felt safe walking around the southern suburbs after dark….although i suspect this is because of the 2 rather large mastiffs that accompany me.

Yet another reason why taking the bus is a very very unattractive offer in Canberra

I think we need to start thinking of “the greater good” 🙂

And one day these knobs will pick someone who knows what they are doing, get their butts kicked from here to next year, and will start playing the victim. And get away with it.

How horrible. I have always felt quite safe walking my dog around the Tuggeranong ‘burbs after dark but maybe I am being naive. Mind you, some of these brave lads who hit people from behind, attack women and operate in pairs or packs are probably scared of puppy dogs.

I’ve strong suspicion each of the assailants would also have a broad yellow stripe down each of their backs. Cowards.

“possibly with a mullet”
