The Canberra Raiders are looking for fans willing to give up their time to help out the club on game days.
But they are offering a very significant package in return:

All volunteers receive:
– Free entry to all games
– Free parking
– Raiders cap
– Raiders polo
– Raiders jacket
– A food and beverage voucher at each game
– NRL entry pass to all NRL regular season matchesIf you would like to register your expression of interest or would like further information, please email reception@raiders.com.au or phone (02) 6253 3515
Sounds too good to be true for the green eyed faithful!
What? No lanyard? I call BS.

I’ll gladly help out the cheerleaders. I’m sure they need a hand!
I like what RedDogInCan said about the cheerleaders.
I’ll only help if I can assist them!
Go Roosters!!

Make sure you dress up as a Labrador, otherwise they won’t give you the time of day.

Class. All class.
I’ll volunteer to pick up the soap in the showers.

Depends but it usually involves ushering people to their seats in the grandstand and directing other people who’ve bought tickets to their seats. Hence why the duties are usually finished by half time.
My father-in-law has done it for years and sees nearly all of every game. I would do it in a second if I could afford the time to be at the weeknight Toyota Cup games. So, just an ordinary Gold Membership for me in 2012.

Isn’t late in the second half when they traditionally come good? Sounds just the ticket for me.

Let’s see, something that starts just before the pre-match game and is done by half-time. Obviously nothing to do with the players otherwise you would need to be there till after the main game. Likewise for cheerleader wardrobe assistant. Food and drink are private contractors.
My guess is car park attendants or ticket collectors. Either way you aren’t going to see much of your eight mandatory games.
At least they aren’t asking for someone to launder the uniforms.

Before you get too excited, remember these are Raiders games you get to go to. Did you see them at all last season?
Thankfully they’re not going to make you to stick around for the second half.
Receiving something in return for volunteering is called employment.
What exactly are the duties?
So if I work for free they won’t charge me to be there or for my uniform and will even throw me a feed? That’s amazing! Someone call Volunteering Australia and tell them the bar has been lifted!
It’s a nice offer but clearly money is becoming a real issue for NRL clubs. As has attracting a major sponsor.
Can I please be Victor the Viking?
Free parking? I thought most Raiders supporters came on the little buses.
