Named for both a women’s suffrage activist and a meandering lakeside road, Lady Denman, the band, have grown into an iconic Canberra institution in their own right. Having undergone a number of line-up changes in recent years, the five-piece are making the most assured indie folk music of their career so far. Don’t miss them playing alongside Flik and Lily Morris at sideway this Thursday, 11 March. Entry is free, but get there early to avoid the dreaded line around the corner.

Spread across multiple venues, the Canberra Women in Music Festival is set to take place this week. Lucy Sugerman, Kirrah Amosa, Box Dye, Slagatha Christie, Kim Yang and Sophie Edwards are just some of the artists slated to appear between Kambri at the ANU and The Polo in Turner.

On Saturday, 13 March, Belconnen Arts Centre is playing host to The Griffyn Ensemble‘s Songs from a Stolen Parliament. The concert series features works from First Nations composers, each of who have reworked stolen voices from parliament into songs and stories.
