Seeker Lover Keeper return to Canberra this Friday, bringing their new album Wild Seeds to The Playhouse. The record chronicles the changes that Sarah Blasko, Holly Throsby and Sally Seltmann have experienced in the eight years since their debut. Expect stunning musicianship and intimate storytelling from three of Australia’s finest singer-songwriters.

Indie-electronic duo Slum Sociable are stopping in at UC Hub this Saturday, playing songs from their new L.I.F. EP. Get down early to catch Canberra’s own Groovy Daughter. Her latest single ‘Reboot’ chillingly discusses desperation and mental illness and the accompanying video features the most stark use of cake you’re likely to see.

Head out to Braidwood on Sunday afternoon to catch performances from Cathy Diver, Powder Blue, Ghostgum and The Perfs as they raise funds for Girls Rock! Canberra.

If you can’t escape the city this week, then Mr Wolf’s Thursday Jam Sesh is the perfect place to see some outstanding local acts, including Hope Wilkins, Way Scared and The Differs.

Elsewhere, post-rockers Lost Coast are headlining their own show at sideway on Friday night, while Queensland producer Paces hits up Mr Wolf. 70’s tragics can get their fix at The Basements 70’s Tribute Night on Saturday and extreme metal fans won’t want to miss Cradle Of Filth on Tuesday, also at The Basement. Oh, and I expect to see everyone at Harmonie German Club on the dancefloor this Saturday as the legendary Marcia Hines presents Disco Inferno.
