Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Mila and Miriam are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the week: Mila

Beautiful Mila arrived at the RSPCA shelter in an extremely emaciated state as a stray, although her back story is a mystery to us.

After intensive care provided by our veterinary team and some extra TLC from the kennel staff and volunteers, Mila is steadily on her way to full recovery.

Due to her dramatic past, Mila was initially wary of strangers but has gradually learned to trust again. She’s made many new friends during her time at the shelter. Mila is filled with enthusiasm and brings so much joy to everyone she meets.

This sweetheart will bond strongly with her family and will make a very loving companion. She loves nothing more than being by your side, trying to be an oversized lap dog and giving you as many kisses as you will allow.

Cat of the week: Miriam

This lovely older lady was surrendered to the shelter through no fault of her own and is now hoping to find her forever family. After 10 years of life, Miriam is ready to settle in and become part of a family where she can live out her nine lives.

Miriam is a sweeter little lady who absolutely adores lots of pats and kisses and will happily snuggle up for a quick afternoon nap after a tough day of being effortlessly gorgeous. Because she is an older lady, Miriam prefers to come up to you for snuggles and isn’t a huge fan of being picked up anymore.

Miriam would prefer a nice household that is calm and quiet, where she can explore and find all the cozy nooks to sleep in. She can get a little bit nervous around noisy environments and would need a safe and comfortable space where she can settle if the world gets too much for her. Because she’s not such a fan of high activity, Miriam may suit a home with older children and no pets.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
