Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Cory and Isla are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cat of the Week – Cory

Meet Cory! This charming guy has clearly had quite a rough start before he arrived at the shelter. Cory is covered in scabs and scars, but underneath this tough exterior is a sweet, playful and sensitive man.

Cory is likely around four-years-old and is ready to find a new home that is relatively calm and stable. Preferably this would mean not a rental property, but if you are a long-term tenant our team is happy to discuss. Cory will best suit a home with adults-only as he needs lots of love and patience to come out of his shell.

When he first arrived at the shelter Cory was a little shy and sensitive. But with time he has become a chatty man who loves to greet our staff and volunteers each day. Cory loves nothing more than cheek scratches, and when you hit the right spot he will flop right over.

This fellow will need to be an indoor-only cat as he has previously lived it rough on the streets before and was a little worse for wear. His ideal home would be able to provide him with a cat run for some safe outdoor access. Cory is not fond of other animals so will need to be your one and only.

Isla

Isla is a lovely lady looking for a family to call her own.

Dog of the Week – Isla

Isla the dog is a sweet girl who has missed out on some of the good thing’s life has to offer a beautiful dog. At times Isla can be a little hesitant and unsure of unfamiliar strangers but does warm up quickly once she is more comfortable. This beautiful girl would love to live an indoor or outdoor lifestyle and become a true member of her new family.

Isla is seeking a more experienced home with humans who are prepared to take her to training classes. This will ensure her active mind is kept busy with plenty of exercise and enrichment.

Lovely Isla is what we call an agile girl, so it is important her new home has good and strong fencing, preferably over six-feet high. Isla needs controlled meetings with other dogs to give her time to feel comfortable, so for this reason we feel Isla will be best suited to being an only dog with no children in her new home.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
