Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Isabelle and Firenze are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Isabelle

Unicorn owner needed! Isabelle is a sweet dog who has, unfortunately, come from rough circumstances. It’s for this reason Isabelle is looking for a pretty specific home to call her own.

Isabelle is extremely dog reactive and needs a secure and contained home where there are no dogs surrounding her new property. This means that if your next-door or back fence neighbours own a dog, this girl won’t be suitable for you. Isabelle’s new home must also have large 6-foot Colorbond fencing.

While at the shelter, Isabelle has shown clear signs of anxiety and will likely need medication for the rest of her life. At seven years old, we’re looking for someone willing to teach Isabelle how to be an inside dog, allowing her to become a bit of a lounge lizard and a valued member of your family.

There are some great qualities about Isabelle and she’ll certainly make the perfect companion for the right person. Isabelle loves people and once familiar will lay down and expect tummy rubs. At the shelter Isabelle has shown us she loves to play with a tennis ball but can get easily distracted. With time we are sure she could grow and learn how to play with other fun toys.

Firenze

Firenze cannot wait to find a new forever home.

Lizard of the Week – Firenze

Meet Firenze, one of our blue-tongued lizards looking for a forever home! Firenze and the other lizards in our care are looking for dedicated reptile owners who can provide them with every necessity they need.

Firenze and his friends have come from a pretty rough background and are looking for new owners who have done their research on how to appropriately care for a reptile. While this doesn’t necessarily mean the adopter needs lizard experience, they will need to be prepared to put the time and effort into decking out their new home with the right equipment.

Firenze’s new home will need UV lights, heat lamps and more in a large 4-foot (length) tank to allow room to move around comfortably. Photographs of Firenze’s new home must be shown to staff prior to adoption and Firenze is not suited to living with other reptiles.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
