Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Jack and Patrick are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the week: Jack

Jack is a playful young dog who will greet you with an incredibly happy demeanour whenever he sees you. As a lovey-dovey Labrador, Jack is eager to show his affection. As seen in the photo above, he is a very energetic and smiley young man.

Jack enjoys a daily snooze in the sun when not being entertained by the rambunctious wild rabbits passing his yard. He’s incredibly observant and happily watches the shelter’s daily functions, passively taking in the busy shelter from his quiet yard.

Jack would love a home with enough space to exude his energy and plenty of toys to keep him happy and entertained. As he is a large breed dog, his best match would be an active and experienced owner who can handle his size and larger-than-life personality.

With the perfect combination of the right treats, toys and training, Jack would make the most wonderful companion and keep you on your toes!

Cat of the week: Patrick

This beautiful boy was surrendered to us just over a month ago through no fault of his own, and now he is looking for his forever family to go home to.

Patrick is a young man who enjoys spending time on his shelf, tucked away and calmly watching the world go by. He thoroughly enjoys a nice snooze up on his perch after meals, which he likes to believe is much-needed beauty rest.

Although his personality is more relaxed than exuberant, Paddy does warm up to you fondly when he realises pats are involved. He can be quite shy upon meeting you, but once he gets to know you, he absolutely loves a good scratch on the head and nose.

Patrick would prefer a calm home with one or two people where he can settle in at his own steady pace. Because he can get very overwhelmed with loud noises, he would prefer a home where he is the only pet and the apple of your eye. Although he is a pretty reserved young man, once Patrick finds the perfect home for him, he’ll settle in and warm up in no time!

Paw note: After 434 days with us at the shelter, our beautiful boy Clayton has finally been adopted! Leelu, our dog of the week from last week, however, is still on the lookout for her forever family!
