Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Murphy and Heizi are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week: Murphy

Meet Murphy!

If you’re looking for a bouncy, bubbly best buddy, oh boy, do we have the dog for you!

Murphy is a young, sweet, tiny ball of nerves and excitement looking for a family that can keep up with his energy and help him learn how to be a good boy. This bouncy boy has so much potential as a young pup. He is very excited to meet other dogs, loves to walk, run, and play and will be a great companion for anyone willing to put the time in to train him and help him settle down as he grows up.

While small, he has a lot of energy and would prefer a home with space for him to play. As a Chihuahua x Terrier, he can get a bit nervous and is still learning that it’s okay to be by himself sometimes. Don’t underestimate this little guy because he’s small. He has just as much energy as a bigger boy and would be perfect for someone looking for big dog energy in a small dog package.

He would be ideal for a family with older kids that can dedicate time to training and entertaining this young pup, and Murphy would even benefit from having an older dog around to show him the ropes!

Heizi

Cat of the week: Heizi

Say hello to Heizi!

This sweet-natured, affectionate boy is one of the more mature cats in our shelter. He is gorgeous, sweet, quiet, and longs for his own home. At eight years old, Heizi is way past his crazy kitten stage but still in his prime. Heizi is a low-energy, very content boy that loves to spend the day dozing away.

Heizi is the perfect pet for a couple, a single person, or someone retired looking for a chill and easy-going companion. He prefers to be the only pet, so would be great for a home where it’s just him and his owners.

Shelter life can be tough for introverts like Heizi as he really needs his own space in a comfy home with lots of hiding spots, patches of sun and cosy beds to snuggle up on.

As the cold weather creeps up on us, this fluffy companion will help keep your bed and heart very warm this winter.

Paw note: Last week’s pets Addy and Charlie Brown are still looking for their forever homes!
