Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Khaleesi and Nimbus are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Khaleesi

She’s no mother of dragons, but she’s sure to be the queen of your heart, meet Khaleesi!

Khaleesi is a dear older lady looking for a forever home, somewhere she can put her paws up and enjoy the company of her family. But Khaleesi is not quite ready to hang up her crown; she still has plenty of get up and go! She loves her daily walks and would make an excellent gentle exercise companion. Khaleesi has a gorgeous caramel coloured coat and warm amber eyes you’ll fall in love with.

Khaleesi is very affectionate with people. She is relaxed around meeting new people and is happy to receive some loving pats and cuddles. Khaleesi loves to relax in full regal splendour on the couch, preferably with a steady tummy scratch. If you’re looking for a TV buddy to watch your favourite show with, Khaleesi will willingly volunteer.

Khaleesi is OK with meeting other dogs and may be open to meeting a calm male dog of a similar age. With her sweet and calm temperament, we think Khaleesi would suit a home with children aged 10 years and older.

Nimbus

Nimbus needs a new friend.

Cat of the Week – Nimbus

In Greek mythology, Nimbus means shining light, or a silver cloud, surrounding someone like an aura. Well, if you need a good aura to surround you, maybe think about adopting Nimbus!

Nimbus is a delightful white cat who loves the company of people. Nimbus came to the shelter a bit worried and afraid after roaming the streets. He was placed into foster where he warmed to a home environment and is now ready to let his light shine with a new family.

Nimbus is one calm kitty. He is content to spend his days curled up on the carpet or a vacant chair. His ideal spot, though, is curled up in your lap, enjoying some scratches and pats as he purrs the day away.

Nimbus is a very vocal boy. He likes to greet people with little chirps and meows, and you’ll hear him calling out for you around the house. Nimbus will definitely let you know when he is hungry. This is perhaps one of the few times Nimbus is known to get a little temperamental and forget his manners (call it ‘hangry’, if you will). But once he’s got something in his tum, preferably his favourite treat chicken, he’s back to being his usual angelic self.

Not one to lose his cool, Nimbus is not afraid of loud noises or meeting new people. He would be best suited for a home with older kids or teens.

Find a new shining aura with this loveable kitty and make an adoption application for Nimbus today!
