Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Patch, Kahlua and Schnapps are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week: Patch

Meet Patch.

Patch is a retired racing greyhound who is ready to learn all about being a pet! As an ex-racer, Patch may take a little bit of time to understand what it means to be a dog, he doesn’t have too much experience with domestic life, and he will need to be in a home with someone patient and willing to let him go at his own pace and become comfortable.

Like most greyhounds, Patch is a bag of lazy bones who loves to chill out. Even though they’re fast, greyhounds are very lazy and only need a daily walk. They don’t mind apartment living and are happy to curl up on a couch all day.

Patch would benefit from some socialisation and would love to learn about the world. With the proper structure and patience, greyhounds can be lovely, sweet and calm companions.

Patch would be best suited to a home with a quiet lifestyle, older kids and someone who understands his greyhound quirks.

Kahlua & Schnapps will be the life of your (quiet and cosy) party.

Cat of the week: Kahlua & Schnapps

Meet Kahlua & Schnapps.

These two kitties are incredibly sweet, timid and are looking for a home where they can flourish together. Shelter life is definitely not for this pair of introverts. Even though they are very sweet-natured cats, Kahlua and Schnapps take some time to warm up to people. But once they are comfortable, they are full of purrs.

Schnapps is the first of the pair to come forward for cuddles and loves having her chin scratched. She dissolves into a puddle of purrs once you’ve hit the right spot for her, and she’ll be your best friend. Kahlua takes a little longer to warm up being the more timid of the pair, but she is equally affectionate and forthcoming with love if given the time.

If you are looking for a pair of cats that will love you just as much as they love each other, these are your girls.
