ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at the SPAR Supermarket in Bonython last night (Tuesday, May 21).

Around 7.05pm police attended the supermarket after receiving a report that a man carrying a knife had entered the store.

It is alleged the offender approached the front counter and threatened a staff member with the knife, demanding money.

The staff member complied with his demands and gave the offender a small sum of cash.

The offender then left the store and ran in the direction of a nearby unit complex.

The offender is described as 6’ (183cm) tall with a muscular build and had dark cloth covering his head and mouth. He was wearing a green coloured top and grey pants.

Police would especially like to speak to two men who exited the store moments prior to the robbery, as they may have seen something which could assist with the investigation.

Anyone else who has information which could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au .
