A 19-year-old Glen Innes man has become the sixth person to be charged in relation to the 2021 doorstep shooting murder of Glenn Walewicz.

Mr Walewicz was shot on the doorstep of his Mansfield Place townhouse in Phillip on 10 June 2021, shortly after a group of people knocked on his door.

Five people have been arrested over his death, starting with 19-year-old Dunlop man Reatile Ncube who was charged with being an accessory (after the fact) to murder.

An 18-year-old teen was charged with murder, but is legally unable to be named because he was 17 at the time of the shooting.

Gary Taylor, a 24-year-old from Baradine in NSW, was arrested earlier this month and charged with Mr Walewicz’s murder.

A 13-year-old child was also charged with murdering the 48-year-old.

The sixth person was arrested by ACT Policing Homicide Detectives earlier this week and extradited to the ACT.

He was charged with being an accessory after the fact (murder) and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary and faced the ACT Magistrates court today (Saturday, 25 June 2022). He did not apply for bail and will appear again in court on 25 July.
