Rumour has it the Tharwa Bridge will be open by August. Evidently the tender to repair has been awarded and the company has inspected the bridge.
So beaurocratic bungling > 2 years, actual time to fix 5 months.
roll on august 2012.
Well the people of Canberra are good at electing the most idiotic incompetent
people we can find.. stanhopeless, hargreaves, stefaniak, burke, pratt and the other 2 labor members that I don’t think anyone has ever heard of or from. Doubt the coming election will be much different.
isn’t there already a pratt in that gig, mr evil?
Maybe Pratt will get the job as the local ABC TV News weatherman? 🙂
Agreed. I think Pratt may be in serious trouble this election.
It’s not as if he’s appeared to have been an effective member of opposition.
What makes you think Pratt will be reelected? He only just scraped in last time and in a town that produces some stunningly ineffective local politicians he stands out as one of the most useless.
I’m sure the 6 residents of Tharwa would be very happy.
At least Pratt would keep the town graffiti free! 😉
And there’d be a Police Officer on every street corner!
I should add that I find it intersting that someone could think that the government has actually handled the Tharwa Bridge issue in a timely and efficient manner.
Frankly it’s been a stuff up all along and if the Libs were in power (okay, hypothetically) then I’d gladly give it to them if they handled it so badly.
Come to think of it, an ACT Liberal government could be fun. They are bound to stuff up everything!
Totally agree on that score Mr Evil.
I hear that Jacqui Burke and Brendon Smyth were standing around outside the MLA building until 1am this morning because some woman was protesting that the ACT government wouldn’t give her disability payments.
Both Burke and Smyth may have been doing the right thing for the woman, but I wonder, was it for the right reasons?
If Thumper’s a Liberal stooge, then the Pope’s a Maori!
Just because someone doesn’t like watching Stanhope and his colleages screw the ACT, doesn’t mean they’re a Liberal stooge.
And let’s face it, just one look at the local bunch of Liberals is enough to make anyone sick!
Damn, I’ve been berated…..
Shocked and stunned actually…..
You’re becoming embarrassing.
oh thumper i dont mean to berate you, i just think it’s necessary to point out for anyone who stumbles across this page that your views are those of an irelevant and unrepresentative hack…. i dont know why you are getting so touchy….
…..actually i do,… it must be hideously embarrassing to be a liberal stooge these days
If I say that I think they will stuff it up (like most things) then I’ll be soundly berated by Mr Tom Tom.
I think I may convert….
Now call me a cynic, but who reckons the ACT Govt will fark the repairing of the bridge up this time too?
wow i was just expecting an insipid denial….its almost as if i hit a nerve
Damn, I forgot that I need to pay up my membership of the Liberal anti progression, conservative, right wing anti socialist, red neck, hippies must all die, stoolie club….
Thanks for reminding me.
Feel free to post your own stories at anytime….
an election later this year? that wouldn’t explain the re-emergence of prominent local regressive Johnathon Reynolds (are you seeking preselection by the way?) or liberal stoolie thumpers daily anti-stanhope/labor tirades, would it?
nah, why ever would someone think that
What makes you say that?
I wonder if the sudden expediency has anything to do with an ACT election later this year?
There is a campaign to remove Alan Jones' advertising from the back of ACT buses. Is this a good idea?
