The Greens have announced their plans for sport in the ACT:

The ACT Greens have today announced a commitment of $7 million of new funding per year to community sports and recreation infrastructure. The money will be allocated following an audit of the ACT’s existing facilities, and delivered as part of a new sports plan with improved funding transparency.

Other highlights of the Greens Sport and Recreation Plan include:

— Establishing a Ministerial Taskforce to address:
— Improving access to school facilities out of hours
— Declining volunteerism
— Increasing participation amongst children and young people

— Raising the audit threshold for community organisations to reduce red tape

— $278,000 to continue funding the Small Sports Business Hub
