Vicious assault in Mitchell leaves man injured and unconscious

A 29-year-old Lyneham man will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court today following a ‘vicious assault’ which left a man injured and unconscious in Mitchell in the early hours of Saturday morning.

About 2:10 am on Saturday morning (March 10), ACT Policing received a complaint of an ongoing assault in Mitchell involving three men.

When police arrived at the scene they found an injured and unconscious man who received medical treatment and was then transported to hospital.

Police then searched the area and found the men a short time later. The two men were arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House.

Police state that after conducting further inquiries into the incident they released one of the men from custody.

However, the other man was charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm and was due to appear in court today (March 12).
