ACT Policing is investigating a spate of graffiti incidents in Belconnen overnight (Friday, September 27).
Numerous local businesses and government departments’ contacted police to report walls and windows sprayed with graffiti ‘tags’.
Businesses on the following streets in the Belconnen Town Centre were targeted; Cohen Street, Chan Street, Rae Street, Bayles Street, Josephson Street, Weedon Close, Purdue Street, Walder Street, Wales Street and Emu Bank.
The estimated cost of the damage is in excess of $10 000.
CCTV is being obtained from several businesses which depict four males spraying the graffiti.
Anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or can assist police in their investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
Police urge any businesses with graffiti damage in the Belconnen area to report the incident to ACT Policing Operations on 131-444.
