Adamthebastard has captured the latest public art to have the plastic sheets removed around Civic.
On the intersection of London Circuit and Northbourne Avenue there now stands Keizo Ushio’s “dream lens for the future”, which seems to be falling into the dreary sub-type of Canberra public art I like to think of as “circles placed square in the middle of an avenue framing nothing in particular”.
This is less a criticism of the art than the staid way they get positioned.
Here are the details for those who are interested.
Kazza The Blank One also saw the piece and it turns out she’s a bit of an aficionado of Keizo Ushio’s work.
For a more daring use of his work in space here’s one she took of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Kobe back in 2009.
But if you want to really see how Keizo’s been working to a theme check out his image gallery.
