The Centenary team are making it known that their creative director has picked up a prestigious gong for her Spiegel Garden turn:
The Creative Director of the Centenary of Canberra, Robyn Archer AO, has won a prestigious Helpmann Award for best cabaret performance.
Robyn Archer in Concert: QUE RESTE-T-IL? was performed at the Famous Spiegel Garden and the Toulouse-Lautrec Cabaret and Curator Dinner at the National Gallery of Australia in March.
Que reste-t-il is best known to English-speaking audiences as I Wish You Love.
The annual Helpmann Awards, the premier awards event for the live performance industry, were presented at the Sydney Opera House on Monday 29 July.
Centenary of Canberra Executive Director, Jeremy Lasek, congratulated Robyn on her win on behalf of the ACT Government.
“No-one who was at The Famous Spiegel Garden that evening will ever forget Robyn’s performance,” Mr Lasek said.
“It was another Centenary highlight, a terrific show by a consummate artist who gives her all to her art. We are especially proud that she won for a performance as part of the Centenary of Canberra program.“
