A 19-year-old man was extradited from NSW over the weekend by members of ACT Policing Criminal Investigations for offences from 2010.
On the night of January 12, 2010, police will allege the teenager committed an aggravated burglary in Griffith (ACT) in which a woman was assaulted and her handbag stolen.
The 64-year-old woman was in bed inside her Sturt Avenue home about 11.55pm when a man entered the bedroom and threatened her with a kitchen knife.
The man struck her to the side of the face with a fist before fleeing with her handbag after she screamed loudly several times. She suffered swelling and bruising to her cheek and eye as a result.
On Saturday (November 23, 2013) Detectives from Criminal Investigations travelled to Wagga Wagga where the extradition of the man was granted.
The man will face the ACT Children’s Court this morning charged with Theft, Aggravated burglary, and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
