- A 26-year-old man will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (August 31) charged with traffic in a controlled drug other than cannabis; dealing with proceeds of crime and providing a false name/address.
This follows a search of a man’s vehicle in Braddon at 10.20pm on Friday (August 28) where police allegedly located $25,000 in cash and two vials containing a clear liquid suspected to be GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid).

2. Still seeking witnesses to the Kingston murder:
- ACT Policing is seeking to identify four remaining witnesses as investigations continue into the homicide of a 19-year-old Canberra man, whose body was recovered from Kingston on September 1, 2008.
The body of the man, later identified as Cameron Anderson, was recovered around 7.20am at the rear of a child care centre in Kingston that day. He had died from a number of stab wounds.
Territory Investigations Group detectives engaged in Operation Solus have taken over 300 statements since the incident, and more than 200 exhibits have been seized or recovered, including a knife.
As part of this comprehensive investigation, police are seeking these four witnesses who were in the Filthy McFadden’s Pub in Green Square, Kingston, on the night of Sunday, August 31.
None of these four witnesses – three males and a female – are considered suspects but are sought by police in an attempt to provide a more detailed picture of what occurred in the licensed premises late on the night prior to the homicide.
The four witnesses, as shown from the still CCTV images, are described as:
Male 1: About 40yrs, 175cm (5’9”) tall, with short grey-coloured hair, a solid build, wearing dark pants, dark zip-up jacket, and spoke with an accent. May have a Christian name of Peter, or have the nickname of “Dicko”.
Male 2: about 175cm (5’9”) tall, solid build, wearing a bright orange cap, dark zip-up fleece jacket, and dark pants.
Male 3: About 180cm tall (5’11”) tall, slim build, short brown hair, aged in his early to mid 20s, wearing beige pants, a dark leather jacket, and blue shirt.
Female 1: About 165cm tall, with a slim build, shoulder-length brown hair, light blue jeans, shoulder bag, grey/brown coat
Police are appealing for anyone who may be able to identify any of these four people to contact Crime Stoppers.

3. Kambah and Macgregor for the growing:
- A 41-year-old Kambah man and a 39-year-old Macgregor man will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court charged with cannabis cultivation and trafficking offences after police executed consecutive Drugs of Dependence Act search warrants on two separate residences in Kambah and Macgregor on Saturday (August 29).
During the searches, Territory Investigations Group detectives located a number of suspected cannabis plants and an amount of suspected cannabis packaged in clip seal bags along with electrical equipment equipped for growing hydroponic cannabis at the residences.
The estimated street value of the drugs haul is around $33,000.

- ACT Policing Water Police officers searching Lake Burley Griffin for a missing Jerrabomberra man have this morning (September 6) found his body.
The body of 30-year-old Peter Morrison was located around 9.30am about 30 metres off Springbank Island, within the original search area identified by police. A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
Officers from the Water Police team have been searching the lake daily since Mr Morrison went missing last Sunday, and Detective Sergeant Ian Faulds says that although this is upsetting for the family, they are pleased that their loved one has been found and they can now move on with their grieving process.
