Investigations into the violent stabbing of a man in his home at Jerrabomberra continue, with police in Queanbeyan keen to speak with members of the public who may have information that could assist.
The 39-year-old man was stabbed in the early hours of last Friday morning (16 October) after he was woken by a noise coming from inside his Halloran Drive home at about 3:30 am.
A NSW Police spokesperson said he left his bedroom to investigate and was confronted by a man described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s, about 180cm tall with a solid build and wearing a black hoodie and track pants.
The man produced a knife and stabbed the occupant in the abdomen before running from the home.
Emergency services were called, and police from Monaro Police District attended and commenced an investigation.
The occupant was taken to Canberra Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
An initial search of the crime scene indicates the occupant’s wallet may have been stolen during the break-in.
“As inquiries continue, police would like to speak with anyone who may have information that could assist,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
