Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Rocco and Waffle are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.
Dog of the Week – Rocco
Rocco’s looking for a modern life! And he’s looking for the perfect family to spend it with. Rocco is such a loving goofball who has no qualms about showing his affection. Rocco has had a bit of a rough start. He came to us as a stray, but this beautiful dog loves the company of people so he’s finding it hard to adjust to life in the shelter.
Rocco is dying to give out smooches and wants nothing more than to be with his person. He’d be well suited to someone who spends a lot of time at home or has a job where he could come along, just don’t expect him to answer any emails!
Rocco is highly food motivated which makes this snacky boy easy to train. He already walks nicely on a lead and can sit and shake. Rocco will need a daily walk and some games to keep him happy and healthy. He absolutely loves water and fills the staff with delight to watch him splash in his water bowl. We bet he’d love to have some beach adventures over the summer. Rocco can be a bit anxious at times, so he will need guidance and consistency in his new home. We would recommend Rocco for a home with children aged 10 years and older.
Rabbit of the Week – Waffle
Waffle is a particularly apt name for this very sweet rabbit. Despite his sugary name, this little bunny much prefers a healthy diet of kale and carrots. Waffle is a total extrovert who loves interacting with people; we get such enjoyment watching him hop on over to say hello and ask for pats and cuddles.
Waffle is quite confident, so he may be open to having another bunny playmate, they’ll just need gentle introductions to get them acquainted. Quite a tolerant rabbit, we think he’d do well with children, ideally with some who have had rabbits before and know how to care for them.
Waffle is looking forward to snuggling up with a new family that can provide him with plenty of love, enrichment and snacks! If you think you’d be a good fit, let us know and book an appointment to see him.
