Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Zac and Agatha are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Zac

Meet Zac, our very friendly dog of the week. Zac’s friendly reputation is well-deserved. He absolutely adores people and is very affectionate. Zac is almost always down for a good time and loves playing with his favourite toys, especially a rope toy!

Zac is an outgoing social butterfly, and he loves to be included in whatever is going on. His excitability can bubble over at times, so he’ll need a gentle reminder of his manners. That’s nothing a tasty treat can’t fix, though. Zac is food motivated and would do well with rewards-based training that includes snacks.

Zac loves people, so ideally, his perfect home environment would be where he can be inside and a part of the family. This cuddle buddy is looking for a family that will let him snuggle up and watch a show (just don’t expect him to make any suggestions about what to watch).

Zac has been described as a beautiful lead walker and has a nice sit. Always one for a friendly greeting – he can even shake hands! He does like other dogs and will say a sociable hello, but he’d be best as an only dog in terms of living arrangements. We believe his fun and loving temperament would make him suitable to live with children 8 years and older.

Zac is a kind and loving dog who has been a bit unlucky. You won’t regret making space for him in your life; he is sure to fill it with endless joy.

Agatha

Agatha needs a new family right meow!

Cat of the Week – Agatha

Agatha was brought to the shelter through no fault of her own and surrendered with the rest of her family. A bit nervous at first, the cats have blossomed into sweet-natured siblings. Once you take some time to get to know Agatha, she shows you how friendly she can be. Agatha and her siblings are gorgeous tabbies with chunky fur, making them ideal for a good pat and rub.

Agatha has grown up surrounded by other cats in a big family. We think it’d be amazing if she could go home with one of her siblings she’s grown up with, but this isn’t a requirement for adoption. Alternatively, if you have a cat that would make a good match for Agatha, we’d love for them to live together so long as the two get along well.

Agatha and her siblings have lived with a sensible child in the past and would probably be OK with another. They are still shy, so very young children might not be a good match.

Agatha has been an outdoors cat her entire life, but she’s adapting well to indoor life. What would be perfect for her would be some form of cat run. Somewhere she can laze in the sun and have a good look at the world. With some encouragement and games, we’re sure Agatha will adjust to indoor living in no time.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
