UPDATE, 6 August: A man wanted by police has been arrested and is accused of illegally possessing knuckle dusters.
ACT Policing said at about 8 pm on Monday (5 August), police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda City on Kingsford Smith Drive in Florey and allegedly found Nicholas Josef Peter hiding in its boot.
He was arrested and faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday (6 August), where he was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, which are alleged to be knuckle dusters.
Magistrate Jane Campbell said his parole had been cancelled and he had to serve another 20 days imprisonment from a prior sentence.
She refused him bail on his fresh charge and adjourned the matter to 29 August.
25 July: ACT Policing has announced it is “urgently” seeking the public’s help to find a wanted man.
Nicholas Peter, 27, was wanted by police. On Thursday (25 July), a police spokesperson described him as being Caucasian in appearance, about 185 cm tall, with short, dark brown hair, brown eyes and a thin build.
He could be driving a black Audi SUV (last seen with ACT registration YND36V) or a blue motorbike. He frequents the Gilmore and Chisholm areas of Tuggeranong.
“ACT Policing is urging Mr Peter to surrender himself to the nearest police station or to contact police and provide his location,” the police spokesperson said.
Members of the public should not approach Mr Peter, but contact ACT Policing Operations on 131 444 immediately to report any information regarding his whereabouts.
