Alleged attack leaves man in hospital with 'significant injuries'

A police manhunt is underway after a man was taken to hospital due to the serious injuries he received in an alleged attack.

ACT Policing said emergency services arrived at a home on Ashley Drive in Wanniassa at around 5 pm on Wednesday (4 September) after reports of an altercation.

A man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with what police described as “significant injuries”.

“The offender fled the scene before police arrived and an investigation to identify them is underway,” a police spokesperson said.

Police spoke to witnesses at the scene but want anyone with any further information to come forward, including anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage from the areas of Ashley Drive, Michaelis Court, Comrie Street, Sternberg Crescent and McBryde Crescent between 4 pm and 5:30 pm that afternoon.
