8 March, 2:15 pm – Mystery still surrounds the discovery of a man’s body on a path near the Erindale Shops.
Police have now confirmed the man was 54 years old, however they’re no closer to working out how he died.
“A post mortem has been conducted and police are continuing the investigation into the circumstances of the man’s death,” an ACT Policing spokesperson said.
Officers have expanded their call for witnesses, now seeking anyone who was in the vicinity of Bussau Close in Wanniassa between 9 am and 1 pm last Friday (3 March) to come forward.

3 March, 7 pm – Police have confirmed the discovery of a man’s body in Wanniassa.
Officers were called to the scene at about 12:55 pm on Friday (3 March) to reports a man in his 50s was found dead on a footpath near Bussau Close, near the Erindale shops.
Police would like to speak with anyone who was in the vicinity of Bussau Close and saw anything unusual before 1 pm.
3 March, 4:45 pm – A police investigation is underway in Wanniassa this afternoon, with people asked to avoid the area.
Officers had cordoned off a large section of land near the Sternberg Crescent underpass to the Erindale Shops at the Langdon Crescent intersection, while nearby Bussau Close was blocked off to everyone but residents.
Detectives were seen interviewing people while boxes of evidence were collected on the footpath.
One neighbour said a man’s body had been discovered.
While ACT Policing would not confirm a deceased person had been found, a spokesperson called for community information.
“Anyone who witnessed any suspicious in the vicinity of Bussau Close between 12 pm and 1 pm today is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website,” they said.
