A fresh take on political ads from Canberra

By pierce - 9 July 2007 4

GetUp.org has a competition running at present allowing everyday Aussies to make their own political ads for the upcoming federal election.

A number of local filmmakers including Hanat and Colsim (among others) have put their efforts up for your viewing and voting pleasure.

I could only find these two on YouTube – they’re a little rough (sorry dude/dudette but they are) but are worth a look. (I tried to embed these but things seem a little wonky – curse my inadequate html 🙂

[ED (Ntp) – Both are now embeded below.]

What’s Your opinion?

Vote one Thumper for ruler of the world.

Written and spoken by Thumper on behalf of the Cute Furry Disney Animals Party of the ACT.

Thanks for that Ozhair – good thinking. Yeah, I like Hanat’s one too.

hanat’s ad (not one of the two embedded youtube ones) can be seen here:

I quite like it. There does seem to be a bit of a c*ck-up with Getup’s voting system though, as it still doesn’t seem to be enabled, almost two days after voting was supposed to open.

Thanks Ntp – what did I miss with the embedding?

cheers
