ACT records 819 new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded 819 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 437 identified by PCR and 382 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 116 people in hospital, including one in intensive care.

Since the pandemic began, 153,012 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the ACT.

The double-dose vaccination rate for the ACT’s five-plus population remains 97.3 per cent, and 77.2 per cent of residents aged 16 and older have now received a booster.

Of ACT residents aged five to 11, 68.7 per cent have received two doses of vaccine.

Interstate, NSW has reported seven deaths overnight and 7,461 new cases of COVID-19.

Victoria has reported 15 deaths overnight and 5,824 new cases of COVID-19.
