ACT Policing is seeking information on the driver of a stolen vehicle, who failed to stop for police in Scullin early this morning (Monday 28 January).

About 12.35 am, the silver BMW hatch was sighted by police at the intersection of Kingsford Smith Drive and Southern Cross Drive. Police activated their emergency lights and sirens; however the vehicle failed to stop.

The driver fled through suburban Scullin streets for about 40 seconds, when police lost sight of the vehicle. The vehicle reached speeds of up to 100km/h.

The vehicle was later recovered by police in Ngunnawal, and has been seized for forensic analysis.

Police believe members of the public may have sighted the vehicle both before and after the short pursuit, and may have seen the offenders involved. Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
