Beer & food matching on again at The Durham

DanRayner 24 April 2012 1

Hello fellow beer geeks!

The Durham Castle Arms in Kingston will once again be hosting a beer and food matching lunch this coming Saturday 28th April. The Durham, together with Little Creatures, Stone and Wood Brewery in Byron Bay and 4 Pines Brewing Company in Manly present another six beer, six course extravaganza featuring five of Australia’s coolest craft beers plus a special, sixth beer from Little Creatures; The Quiet American, a 7.2% hop-driven, spicy, Belgian hybrid ale (whoah!). The Quiet American will only be available on tap in Canberra at The Durham.

“Beer Snob” Dan Hampton and those industrious chefs at The Durham have matched these great beers to an interesting and diverse range of meals. The event will also be attended by special guest speaker & head brewer from 4 Pines Brewing Company.

Here’s a little sneak-peak at the menu:

Little Creatures Pale Ale with house-made and spicy beef jerky
Stone & Wood Pacific Ale with a Boston seafood chowder
4 pines Koelsch with German bratwurst, sauerkraut and mash
4 pines Hefeweizen with rosemary-infused lamb kebab and tzakiki sauce
4 pines Stout with a mocha creme brûlée
Little Creatures Single Batch The Quiet American with a selection of local cheeses.

Tickets for this six beer, six course event is $59 per head and bookings are essential, either at The Durham in person or on 6295 1769.

cheers & beers!
