Back for their third season, the IMB Sunset Cinema is the perfect summer urban escape, located at the foot of Black Mountain in the heart of the National Botanic Gardens, one of Canberra’s most popular tourist attractions. Screening from the 14th November through to the 20th December, 4 nights per week, the IMB Sunset Cinema offers its guests an entertaining mix of blockbusters, cult classics, as well as live bands, beanbags, gourmet food and a fully licensed bar – it’s more than just a movie night, it’s a festival!

The 2014 Sunset Cinema Canberra program has something for everyone from blockbusters such as Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 1, Gone Girl and Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, to cult hits like Top Gun and Dirty Dancing, to family flicks including How to Train a Dragon 2, House of Magic and Planes 2. For opening night on Friday 14th November Sunset Cinema has secured local Canberra band Slow Turismo to perform live, before a screening of hilarious vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows.

IMB Sunset Cinema Managing Director Simon Rollin says, “We’re excited to be back in Canberra for our third season of Sunset Cinema. Big thanks has to go to our sponsor IMB, who have helped ensure we’re set to be even bigger and better than last year.”

IMB CEO Robert Ryan says, “At IMB, we are proud to support our local communities through events like the Sunset Cinema. This is the third consecutive year we have sponsored the cinema and it has been wonderful to see the event get bigger and better each year.

“The IMB Sunset Cinema began with a season in Wollongong and has grown to include the ACT, North Sydney and for the first time, Western Sydney. We are excited to bring this fabulous outdoor movie experience back to Canberra for a new season and hope people enjoy the great range of films that will be showing.”

Come along and enjoy cinema at its best – outdoors!
