The paper Canberra Times reports this morning (on an inside page, so probably won’t make it online) that the knife allegedly used in the stabbing outside Cube was handed in to police yesterday.

As a result club owner Morris Rao, who has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm, has been bailed (presumably meaning he can now leave the hospital if he wants).

The guys were refused entry to the club because it was 4:45 am and the door was closed. Nothing to do with the fact that they’re not gay.

The one that was punched was under guard for his own protection – he was bailed a few days ago but left the hospital yesterday. Apparently the stabber was acting in self defense ( my spouse has seen the security footage 1st hand ) though having not seen it myself – all i can say is that this is food for thought – either way – no one deserves a knife embedded to the hilt in your skull. Surely….

Which victim are we talking about. The one who was punched or the one who was stabbed in the head?

Gay community no – the family of the victim yes.

My spounse has both victim and instigator on her ward – Thats how I know. The victim is now “No longer at the hospital” however remains there all the same.
The Guard being spoken of was ACT correctional sevices.

Im not about to focus on any reasons for the attacks – to do so would be foolish of me as the onl;y things i know about the attacks are what has been reported to me 3rd or 4th hand by the press. I am just allowing you a chance to know the facts as they stand in regards to what is going RE the hospital.

The gay community can attempt to use this as an attempted attack on their choice of lifestyle but that would be very far from the truth.

choice? lifestyle?

you have got to be kidding me

Where did you get that from Danman? He is/was in the custody of ACT Corrections after a bedside hearing where bail was refused – therefore he is/was under guard.

I doubt there has been or will be revenge attacks as a result of what happened. The gay community can attempt to use this as an attempted attack on their choice of lifestyle but that would be very far from the truth.

Rumors are out already that the Islanders were refused entry as a result they were NOT gay. Focus on that if you choose. CT will no doubt get that wrong too.

The guard at the hospital was for his own protection.

Apologies. It says:

Justice Malcolm Gray said that once Rao was medically fit to be discharged, he would be granted bail, on condition that two $10,000 cash sureties were lodged with the court, he surrender his passport and agree not to discuss the case with witnesses. No date for a return court appearance was set.

It was said he was under guard in the hospital.
