Diversity ACT's People's Choice Awards

This one rattled into my inbox and so I thought the Canberra community might like to know they can [and maybe would like to] vote for their favourite gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer identifying Canberran, business or organisation.

The People’s Choice award is an annual event which recognises nominees’ contributions to the LGBTIQ community of Canberra, through acts of personal volunteering or community service, or to private businesses or organisations which demonstrate support for Canberra’s LGBTIQ community.

Nominate for the following categories:

Lifetime Achievement Award
Most Outstanding Community Member
Most Outstanding Youth Member
Most Outstanding LGBTIQ-friendly Business
Most Outstanding Community Organisation
Most Outstanding LGBTIQ-friendly Venue
Best Canberra Drag Personality
Best LGBTIQ-friendly Cafe
Best LGBTIQ-friendly Salon

To vote and for more information go to Diversity ACT’s Website, I understand we have until 22 August to register our votes.

The Winners will be announced at the Diversity ACT Coming Out Gala Night on the 31st of August @ 7pm Hellenic Club Woden.

Dear RA members, this press release appears to be from last year as this year’s Diversity ACT Gala Event is on 13 July 2013.

If people would like to vote in this year’s People’s Choice Awards nominations are currently being accepted (direct link: http://www.diversityact.org.au/hub1/about/peopleschoice), with nominees being shortlisted for a public online vote in the weeks prior to the Gala.
