yeah sunday arvo at the pot sounds very good – missed the last one. might hit the crew up for a sesh.

In bonus stuff about the Fair day, it appears Riotact favourite Constable Kenny Koala will be showing up between 11 and 12 – don’t know if he’s got any announcements to make (has he been shacking up with Blinky Bill? I think we should be told…)

SpringOut has sprung!

Canberra’s Queer Pride Festival(04 November to 3 December 2006) kicked off last weekend, here’s a taste of this weekend’s events.

Friday:
A very special photographic exhibition ‘Mardi Gras 2006 – The Greatest Show on Earth’ held at Westlund House corner of McCoy Circuit and Gordon Street, Acton,Near Screensound Australia, from 6pm-9m.

BentFest 2006 opens with a bang with the film “50 Ways of Saying Fabulous” at Coombs Lecture Theatre from 7pm – film starts at 7.30pm. For all the info on BentFest go to their website http://www.bentlenses.interact.com.au

Saturday: The Aids Action Council Fair Day kicks off at 10am and will run from 2pm at Westlund House. The AAC Fairday will see over 30 stalls, with a drag queen show, the Tulleys playing, the Qwire and a pet parade.

In the theatre front:

“Cant Pay? Won’t Pay!” continues on its wacky way at the street theatre – a wild farce about communism Italian style – tonight, tomorrow night and Saturday at 7:30, plus 5pm Sunday before concluding next week. Tickets $15-25

Also at the street, “Boston Marriage” – David Mamet’s witty comedy full of sex, sarcasm and duplicity – performances tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 8pm, then continuing next week (with a special forum night on Monday to meet the cast after the show). Tickets $25-30.

And at the ANU Arts Centre Drama Studio, “Happy New” by Brendan Cowell (he was Todd in “Life Support!) gives chicken farming, tabloid journalism and brotherly love a good going over – performances tonight, tomorrow and Saturday night at 7:30 – tickets $5.
