Chief Minister Gallagher has the news that the Commonwealth is spending up on developing the University of Canberra’s capacity to attract students:

“The announcement of an additional $26 million made today by Minister Evans represent a significant investment and vote of confidence in the University of Canberra and in the ACT Government’s plans to develop Canberra’s education economy,” the Chief Minister said.

“This funding will create opportunities for a new curriculum, flexible learning, partnerships with other tertiary providers as well as opening new markets to the University of Canberra.

“It means that here in Canberra we could see a 50% increase in the number of local, regional national and international students at the University with the benefits of this flowing directly into our local economy,” the Chief Minister said.
