Independent Property Group is celebrating a very successful night at the recent Real Estate Institute of Australia ACT Awards for Excellence. In its 24th year, the annual awards recognise the Canberra real estate industry’s top performers. The brand won seven awards.
One of the evening’s top honors was Large Residential Agency of the Year, awarded to Independent Property Group’s Inner North and City office.
The award recognises sales performance, commitment to community, technology and innovation—criteria that principals Chris Uren and Grahame O’Brien say is of high importance for the team. To Chris, the most rewarding aspect of this award is that it’s for the whole team to share.
“To us, the most important thing is our culture. We learn from each other and support each other. This award is a real reflection of that. A huge part of our success is because of our team environment and every single person’s commitment to the team, their client and the industry as a whole”.
While the win was a huge achievement, Chris says the team has no plans in slowing down.
“The industry is going through a big change at the moment, consumer expectations are shifting and we’re seeing a lot of opportunities with new technologies. We want to set the standard for real estate in Canberra, we’ll continue looking at ways to better the client experience and the industry. We still have a lot more we want to achieve.”
Independent Inner North & City will represent the Canberra real estate industry at the national Real Estate Institute of Australia awards next year.
Another major win for the night was Independent Property Manager Renee Bink, who won Property Manager of the Year for the third year in a row. It’s an award Renee says she is very humbled to have received.
“There were really great finalists in the category which makes this award even more special. I’m proud to represent the team at Independent – it’s an individual award but I’ve got a very supportive team behind me.”
Renee says the secret to her success is very simple, focussing on the relationships with people not just the tasks.
“Property Manager’s can often become very task focussed and forget that they’re dealing with a human being. For me, it’s all about making people feel good and assured. What’s most important is a good relationship.”
Independent Property Group’s Tuggeranong office are also celebrating a major win after being presented the Innovation Award. The award is presented to an agency who apply innovative practices and solutions to benefit the consumer and industry positively. This year, the team at Independent Property Group Tuggeranong introduced a number of new processes and technologies to drive better experiences for clients.
Will Honey, Principal of Independent Tuggeranong, says the industry is changing at a rapid rate and it’s important for the team to stay ahead of the curve.
“We are always challenging the status quo to meet our client’s expectation & remain relevant. We believe we can have a huge positive impact on the industry as a whole. There are some really exciting projects we are looking to launch in the new future. Watch this space,” says Will.
